About Gary Robinson
Gary, Janette and their daughter Rebecca have lived locally for a number of years. Originally trained in Engineering Design, he is currently managing director of an international construction company, RWS Ltd. Working for the British Government over the past 25 years, on contracts in the UK, Europe, South America and Africa, Gary will bring a wealth of business experience and organisational skills to the role of a District Councillor. He loves farming, breeding horses and employs local people in his well established stud farm in the area. At the end of a busy day, Gary enjoys a visit to one of the four pubs in the village, to catch up on the latest news. Over the years, Gary has supported a number of sporting and leisure developments in the wider area. He is looking forward to the challenge of representing Exning Ward on Forest Heath District Council.
Gary's Priorities for Exning
Maintaining a balance between the needs of the equine industry and those of a modern thriving community, through careful planning and development; while preserving the unique heritage of our rural landscape.
Providing facilities for our young people which enhance life skills, support our local economy and encourages them to stay in the community.
Delivering excellent value for money council services through tight budget control and good management, so council tax remains low and we can all enjoy life, not just live life.
Rural communities need strong representation. Gary will be available to hear your views and act decisively on any concerns raised by residents.
Gary will work hard for the residents of Exning to ensure that Forest Heath District Council acts in the best interests of the village, to preserve its unique and separate identity. Although he loves horses, Gary believes it is important to maintain a balance between the needs of the industry and the wider interests of the community, making sure that people come first. He will campaign to enhance and improve the leisure facilities, including footpaths and bridleways available to local residents and will use his business and management skills to ensure that Forest Heath District Council continues to offer value for money services to its residents.
