Association Chairman, Mary Evans, would like to alert members to the Review of the Conservative Party Organisation launched by the Conservative Party Chairman, Lord Feldman. There is a Consultation session on Thursday, 17th September, 2015 at 7.30 pm at
Barnham Broom Hotel, Honingham Road, Barnham Broom, Norwich, Norfolk NR9 4DD.
Guiding Principles
The overriding question at all times should be "Does our organsation improve/maximise our chances of winning elections?" It is important that it is not focussed solely on the next General Election as there is an obligation to retain a structure that is more enduring than that. In a democracy a Party is always liable to lose at some stage and there needs to be a structure to assist it to return to government. It follows from this principle that our current organsation should be challenged according to whether it meets this benchmark and any changes should include enough definition that their effectiveness can be measured against it.
Principle themes for Consultation are
- Membership & Fundraising
- Organisational Structure
- Deployment of Resources
- Candidate Selection
- Mission Statement
All members are welcome to attend. At the West Suffolk Conservative Association we are running our own consultation of the Review, led by our Deputy Chairman Political Sue Syvret in October after the Party Conference. Sue will be leading a workshop session on the Review. If you would like to take part, please contact Sue on
If any member would like to attend the meeting in Barnham Broom and would need transport, please contact Sue Syvret on 01638 715328.
