Lance Stanbury lives in West Row and is a very experienced councillor having served on the former Forest Heath District Council from 2015-19 as Cabinet Member for Planning and Growth. During his term of office, he was responsible for bringing forward the Toggam Solar Farm, and the scheme to place solar panels on the roofs of businesses. Both these schemes make significant financial contributions to fund council services and have also helped make the council carbon neutral. He also championed improving healthier restaurant and takeaway food choices through the Eat Out, Eat Well awards.
Originally from Hertfordshire, Lance was a parliamentary candidate in the 2001 general election and was Leader of Welwyn Hatfield Council in 1999-2001. He served as Chairman of West Suffolk Conservatives for three-years from 2017 and as Agent to the Rt. Hon. Matt Hancock MP for two general elections.
In May 2021, Lance was elected to represent the people of Mildenhall, Freckenham, Worlington and Barton Mills at Suffolk County Council.
